Why can't I completely remove a thermostat from WebCore

I have removed it from the smart app as a device, but it still shows as used by webCoRE storage:
therm-storage

I see it as a device under capabilities that I am unable to access in the app:

How do I remove it from the cooling, fan, and heating capabilities?

SmartThings support removed the smart app for me so my problem is solved, but the issue outlined in the post still exists.

I usually “clean house” by removing the old device from webCoRE first, and then from SmartThings…
