As of this evening, the Add Devices Option in the webCoRe Smartapp on iOS is not displaying device selection options or enumerating existing devices. Nit sure if this is transient, a general issue of just something in my system - is anyone else having issues with this?
Add Devices Option not available in WC Smartapp
Observing the logs when tapping on the “Available Devices” option in webcore Settings returns the following error in the log:
Anyone have any suggestions as to corrective action?
This exception pops up in a few places but I’ve never seen it here. How many devices do you have and are there any pistons on your dashboard that when clicked do not load?
It looks like the state of the webCoRE smart app mainly includes the piston state message and tiles. Do you have a particularly large number of tiles or pistons with state? Embedded images (e.g. [img src=data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KG...]
) in the state or tiles would be particularly likely to cause issues here.
You can see the state of the webCoRE smart app at ide.smartthings.com > My Locations > smartapps then click webCoRE immediately above all of your pistons. Scroll down to the Application State section to see if any line is particularly huge… Often this state limit error is the result of an absurdly large value that is fairly easy to spot on this screen.
Good call Ian. One of the application state line items is “chunks” and it has 11.7kb of data in it!
How do I clear that data from the applcation state?
OK, figured out how to identify the offending piston, edited and re-saved it - all good now.
Thank you for your assistance @ipaterson
